The Piping System Assessment & Optimization course will build a solid foundation of proficiency needed to perform a Pumping System Assessment, based on the recently approve Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems Standard (ASME EA-2-2009). This seminar will expand on the standard to provide you with a full system improvement plan. After 3 days you will become proficient in: · Optimizing a pumping system · Improve system reliability · Methods for minimizing maintenance costs, capital costs, operational costs · Applying the ASME Pumping System Assessment standard to your facility · System approach to energy assessment · Recognizing where energy is added and consumed in the system · Review of the different types of piping systems and control methods · How to conduct a system evaluation at your facility, step-by-step · Identifying “red flag” areas of your facility using pre-screening · How to conduct a simulated system walk-thru for high priority systems · Case studies and practice exercises for full piping system assessments FULL COURSE OUTLINE This seminar is ideally suited for engineers interested in developing an energy assessment and optimization plan for pumping systems. This includes individuals involved in developing a comprehensive corporate energy conservation program, as well as individuals at the plant level involved in carrying out a local energy assessment and optimization plan. This course is three days, starting at 8 AM ending at 5 PM with one hour for lunch. Course materials are provided at the start of the class. Laptops are also recommended for using the provided electronic worksheets.
